I Dropped a Small Fortune on a Coach, and Everyone Thinks I’ve Lost My Mind (But I’m Totally Okay With That)

So, here’s a confession: I did something recently that might make you think I’ve officially gone off the deep end. I hired a business coach. And not just any coach, mind you. A fancy coach. With a fancy price tag. (Let’s just say it was enough to make my bank account weep softly in a corner.)

Cue the chorus of concerned voices:

“Honey, are you sure you can afford that?”
“Girl, you could have bought a whole new shoe collection with that money!”
“Seriously? You’re paying someone to tell you what to do? What are you, five?”

I get it. It sounds a little crazy, right? Especially in a world where everyone and their dog seems to be offering “expert” advice for free on the internet. But here’s the thing: I’m a firm believer in investing in myself and my business.

Think about it. We don’t hesitate to shell out cash for personal trainers to whip us into shape, financial advisors to guide our investments, or even lawyers to navigate the legal maze. We understand that these professionals have expertise and experience that we can benefit from. So why should it be any different when it comes to our businesses?

Sure, I could try to piece together a business strategy from random blog posts and YouTube videos. But let’s be honest, that’s about as effective as trying to build a house with a Swiss Army knife and a roll of duct tape. (Don’t ask me how I know that.)

A good business coach is like having a personal cheerleader, therapist, and drill sergeant all rolled into one. They push you to dream bigger, challenge your limiting beliefs, and hold you accountable for actually taking action.

Plus, let’s face it, being an entrepreneur can be lonely. It’s nice to have someone in your corner who understands the ups and downs, the late nights, and the imposter syndrome that inevitably creeps in.

Now, I’m not gonna lie, dropping that much money on a coach was a bit scary. But I also knew it was an investment in myself and my future. And so far, it’s been worth every penny.

My coach has helped me clarify my vision, refine my strategies, and overcome obstacles that were holding me back. She’s also given me the confidence to step outside my comfort zone and go after bigger goals.

So, to those who think I’m a little nuts for spending money on a coach, I say this: you do you, boo. I’ll be over here, building my empire and proving that investing in myself is the smartest decision I’ve ever made. 😉

And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to afford that new shoe collection and a business coach. A girl can dream, right?
